Abstract


This research aims to increase the understanding of Phase B students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects on the cycles of living things through the application of a role playing learning model assisted by role card media. This research was carried out in class III in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year with a total of 7 students as subjects. The method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data is collected through tests, observation and documentation. The research results showed that there was a significant increase in students' understanding after implementing the role playing model assisted by role cards. At the pre-cycle stage, students still have difficulty understanding the concept of cycles of living things. After implementing the actions in cycle I and continuing to cycle II, students' understanding increased gradually. Therole playingmodel allows students to be actively involved, think critically, and understand concepts contextually. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the role playing model assisted by role card media is effective in increasing students' understanding of the material on the cycles of living things.
