KEPADATAN SEL FITOPLANKTON CHAEOTOCEROS CALSITRANS DAN NAVICULA SP SEBAGAI PAKAN SEA URCHIN PADA SKALA LABORATORIUM

Abstract


Phytoplankton cultivation aims as feed for sea urchin larvae carried out on a laboratory scale in two species, namely Chaertaceros caisitrans and Navicula sp. To cultivate phytoplankton from both species, diatom media were used for Chaertaceros caisitrans and okinawa medium for Navicula sp. This study aims to determine the population density of phytoplankton cells to be used as feed for sea urchin larvae. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD). Phytoplankton can be harvested and good to be used as feed in the exponential phase where phytoplankton growth occurs rapidly. In this phase, it is taken on the 9th day of phytoplankton growth. The cell density of Navicula sp on day 9 was 10.708 x 103 mm3 / ml, while the cell density of Chaetoceros calsitrans was 7975 x 103 mm3 / ml.
