Abstract

The increasing interest in bicycles after the COVID-19 pandemic has made them a popular alternative means of transportation, including in Purwokerto. However, the variety of available brands and types has led to confusion in making purchasing decisions. This study aimed to design a mountain bike selection recommendation system using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Data were obtained through interviews with a bicycle shop owner and processed using pairwise comparisons among criteria and alternatives. The four main criteria used were price, quality, comfort, and after-sales service. The analyzed alternatives included Element, Pacific, and Polygon. The results showed that Element had the highest score, followed by Pacific and Polygon. The AHP method proved effective in prioritizing alternatives and supporting logical decision-making in bicycle retail stores
