Hubungan Antara Fear Of Failure dan Iklim Sekolah dengan Keterlibatan Akademik Siswa SMK

Abstract


Keterlibatan akademik merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang mendukung keberhasilan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Keterlibatan akademik dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, di antaranya fear of failure sebagai faktor internal dan iklim sekolah sebagai faktor eksternal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) hubungan antara fear of failure dengan keterlibatan akademik siswa SMKN 2 Jiwan Kabupaten Madiun; (2) hubungan antara iklim sekolah dengan keterlibatan akademik siswa SMKN 2 Jiwan Kabupaten Madiun; dan (3) hubungan antara fear of failure dan iklim sekolah secara bersama-sama dengan keterlibatan akademik siswa SMKN 2 Jiwan Kabupaten Madiun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian ex post facto. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 714 siswa, sedangkan sampel penelitian sebanyak 88 siswa yang diambil menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket dengan skala Likert empat pilihan yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dan analisis regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan program IBM SPSS Statistics. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat hubungan antara fear of failure dengan keterlibatan akademik siswa SMKN 2 Jiwan Kabupaten Madiun; (2) terdapat hubungan antara iklim sekolah dengan keterlibatan akademik siswa SMKN 2 Jiwan Kabupaten Madiun; serta (3) terdapat hubungan antara fear of failure dan iklim sekolah secara bersama-sama dengan keterlibatan akademik siswa SMKN 2 Jiwan Kabupaten Madiun.siswa.

 

Abstract: Academic engagement is a crucial factor supporting student success in the learning process. It can be influenced by various factors, including "fear of failure" as an internal factor and "school climate" as an external factor. This study aims to determine: (1) the relationship between fear of failure and the academic engagement of students at SMKN 2 Jiwan, Madiun Regency; (2) the relationship between school climate and the academic engagement of students at SMKN 2 Jiwan, Madiun Regency; and (3) the relationship between fear of failure and school climateconsidered jointly and the academic engagement of students at SMKN 2 Jiwan, Madiun Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach using an ex post facto research method. The population consisted of 714 students, while the sample comprised 88 students selected via cluster random sampling. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire with a four point Likert scale, the validity and reliability of which had been tested The data analysis techniques employed were simple linear regression and multiple linear regression, using the IBM SPSS Statistics program. The results indicate that: (1) there is a relationship between fear of failure and the academic engagement of students at SMKN 2 Jiwan, Madiun Regency; (2) there is a relationship between school climate and the academic engagement of students at SMKN 2 Jiwan, Madiun Regency; and (3) there is a relationship between fear of failure and school climate considered jointly and the academic engagement of students at SMKN 2 Jiwan, Madiun Regency.
