Faktor Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Siswa Sekolah Dasar Lebih Mementingkan Nilai Dari Pada Pembentukan Karakter

Abstract


This study discusses a phenomenon that occurs in the elementary education environment, namely that students tend to prioritize achieving grades but ignore character formation. In today's education, academic achievement is often used as the main benchmark for educational success, while character values such as honesty, empathy, and responsibility receive less attention. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study to explore the factors causing this phenomenon. The results of the study indicate that pressure from parents, a number-oriented educational evaluation system, teacher learning methods, and school culture are the main factors that influence students' perspectives on the importance of academic grades. In addition, the ambiguity in character assessment also exacerbates the imbalance between cognitive and affective aspects. This study emphasizes the importance of the role of teachers, parents, and the school environment in balancing character and academic education. It is hoped that these findings can be the basis for evaluating and renewing the education system so that it is able to produce a generation that is not only intellectually superior, but also has integrity in social life.
