Pengaruh Metode Multisensori Menggunakan Media Kartu Vonem untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Siswa Disleksia di Sekolah Dasar

Abstract


Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder that affects students’ reading abilities, particularly in recognizing letters and forming syllables. This study aims to examine the effect of the multisensory method using vonem cards on improving the reading skills of a dyslexic student in elementary school. The research used a qualitative case study approach involving a fourth-grade student named Galih. The vonem cards were designed with colors and pictures to stimulate visual, auditory, and kinesthetic senses simultaneously. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and pre- and post-intervention reading evaluations. Observations indicated that Galih showed improvement in distinguishing letters, especially vowels and initial consonants, and began to read simple syllables independently. Evaluation results showed that the vonem card media received the highest score (5) in terms of effectiveness, ease of access, and clarity of letter forms, while scoring 4 in attractiveness and collaborative potential. These findings suggest that the multisensory approach using vonem cards is effective in enhancing reading ability and learning motivation in students with dyslexia.
