Abstract


instilling environmental care character must begin earl as pats of character education in elementary schools. This article aims to explain how community service (kerja bakti) activities at school can serve as an effective means of raising students' awareness and concern for cleanliness and environmental sustainability. Through a participatory approach, students are directly involved in practical activities such as cleaning the school yard, planting trees, and recycling waste. These activities not only strengthen social bonds among students but also foster a sense of responsibility and love for the surrounding environment. The results show that regular community service helps to build enduring values of environmental care in students’ daily lives. This article recommends integrating community service activities into character-based learning curricula.
