Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Berbantuan Media Let`S Read terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SD

Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by Let's Read media on students' critical thinking skills in the science subject of grade IV Elementary School. The background of this study is based on the low attention to the development of critical thinking skills in Elementary School environments which have so far emphasized lecture and memorization methods. This study used a Posttest-Only Control Group Design with a saturated sampling technique on grade IV students of SDN Teguhan 02 consisting of 17 students in the experimental class and 17 students in the control class. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test to measure critical thinking skills. The results of the prerequisite test showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Data analysis using the t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a significant effect of the PBL learning model assisted by Let's Read media on students' critical thinking skills. The average posttest score of students in the experimental class was 81.76, higher than the control class of 63.24. These results indicate that the application of the PBL model assisted by Let's Read media is effective in improving the critical thinking skills of elementary school students.
