Peningkatan Pemahaman Matematika Siswa melalui Model Problem Based Learning Berbantuan Media Komik Matematika Digital di Sekolah Dasar

Abstract


Education is the basic foundation for the development of quality individuals from an early age, where understanding concepts is a key skill for absorbing, summarizing, and classifying information. However, initial observations at SDN Bagi 02 Madiun showed low understanding of mathematical concepts in grade III, with only 36% of students achieving the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This is caused by monotonous conventional learning methods, lack of student participation, and minimal interesting media, so that students' learning motivation is low. This study aims to improve students' understanding of mathematics through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model assisted by KOMEDI media in Elementary Schools. The Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with three cycles (pre-cycle, cycle I, cycle II) was applied. The pre-cycle results showed that only 36% of students completed due to monotonous learning. After the implementation of PBL and KOMEDI, learning completion increased significantly from 57% in cycle I to 86% in cycle II. Improvements were also seen in teacher activity (78% to 93%) and students (71% to 86%). This proves that the combination of the PBL model and KOMEDI media is effective in improving students' mathematical understanding and the quality of learning.
