Abstract

Environmental pollution is known to have occurred since a few centuries ago, but serious attention is only visible after the pollution is felt to cause various types of losses, both material and non-material. This occurs because the waste generated has exceeded the threshold of the natural capacity of the environment that is not accompanied by management efforts. Livestock and agricultural waste, when not used will have an impact on the environment such as air pollution, water and soil, a source of the disease, can spur an increase in methane and also interference with the aesthetics and comfort. The objective of this research is to know whether organic fertilizer from dung animal and “kascing” fertilizer have nutrient character content in accordance with SNI standard in 2011. This research uses descriptive research design. The research data was obtained through laboratory analysis of several samples of animal organic fertilizer. The Parameter analysis includes physical appearance (texture, color, water content, and fertilizer follow-up material), macro nutrient content (N, P, and K), micro nutrients (Fe, Mn, and Zn), C / N ratio, heavy metal content and biological analysis with reference to the standards of SNI-2011 organic fertilizer. The results showed that organic fertilizer made from manure and earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) complies with the SNI-2011 standard, but have a water content of macro nutrients (N, P, and K) and microbial contaminants (Salmonella sp) which is not in accordance with SNI-2011 standard. Therefore, it is necessary to do the enrichment process of macro nutrients (N, P, K) in organic fertilizer to fit the SNI-2011 standard.
