The Effectiveness of Instagram Social Media as an Educational Media for Public Awareness and Dental Health

Abstract

Abstract In the current digital era, social media has become a very influential platform in disseminating information, including health information. Instagram, with its visual and interactive features, has great potential to convey educational messages effectively. The high prevalence of dental disease is strongly influenced by several factors, including the behavior of people who do not realize the importance of maintaining healthy teeth and mouth. Efforts to help increase awareness of the importance of dental health in society can be done through social media such as Instagram. The choice of social media Instagram was due to the high number of Instagram users in Indonesia and the tendency of Indonesian people to prefer viewing images rather than writing. This research involved 51 respondents using a website and filling in a questionnaire. Instagram can be an effective medium for dental health education, using content that is presented in an interesting, interactive and informative manner. The results of 51 respondents said that 72.5% said finding an edudi.gi Instagram account was easy, then 52.9% said it was easy to send an email for endorsement, then 60.8% said it was easy to contact the consultation service and the last was 68.6 % said it was easy to provide feedback.
