THE EFFECT OF CASH HOLDING AND FINANCIAL RISK ON INCOME SMOOTHING PRACTICES IN FOOD AND BEVERAGE COMPANIES LISTED ON THE INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE IN THE 2021–2025 PERIOD

Abstract


This study aims to examine the effect of cash holding and financial risk on income smoothing practices, in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021–2025 period. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from companies' annual reports. The sample was selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, with the aid of IBM SPSS. The results show that cash holding has significant effect on income smoothing, whereas financial risk has no significant effect on income smoothing.
