PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH (PBM) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN HASIL BELAJAR BIOLOGI SISWA SMA NEGERI 06 KOTA BENGKULU

Abstract


This study aimsed to determine the effect of problem-based learning model (PBM) by using concept maps of critical thinking abilities and learning outcomes of biology students of SMA Negeri 06 Bengkulu City. The method used is a quasi-experimental research with "Non-Randomized Control Group Pretest Posttest Design". This research was carried out in class XI students of SMA Negeri 06 Bengkulu City. The samples used were two classes, which were determined by cluster random sampling, consisting of 35 experimental classes and 33 control classes. The data obtained in this study are scores of critical thinking skills and students' cognitive learning outcomes. The analysis technique used to test the hypothesis in this study is to use the t-test. The results showed that there were differences in critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in human respiratory system material between PBM models using conventional concept and learning maps. The critical thinking ability of the experimental class experienced a higher average value of 42.54 while the control class was 27.42. From statistical analysis, shows that the use of PBM models combined with concept maps in the experimental class significantly influence the improvement of students' critical thinking skills. In the experimental class learning outcomes have increased, the average value is higher by 40.86 while the control class is 29.12. Similarly, the use of PBM models with concept maps in the experimental class significantly influences the improvement of students' cognitive learning outcomes than conventional learning.
