Abstract

Dengue fever is an acute illness that causes death, so a solution is needed to break the chain of Aedesaegypti mosquito transmission.  The utilization of lerak fruit in killing vector of dengue fever (DHF) has not been much studied, so it is necessary research as potential vegetable plant larvasida. The study was experiment research, used post test only with control group design plan research. The population were all of Aedes aegypti larvae instars III. The data analysis univariate and bivariate (usede independent t-test with p=0,05). Lerak fruit contain alkaloids 6,11%, saponin 5,99%, tanin 5,8%, and flavonoid 1,05 %. The conclusion is that there is a significant different in the number of Aedes aegypti larvae mortality after giving ethanol extract of lerak fruit compered with abate, can be seen from the results of independent t-test, where the p value = 0,029(p <0,05).The average larvicidal mortality of  extract ethanol lerak friut is 19.8 and abate 20, so it is expected that the community can use bioinsecticides because it is environmentally friendly
