Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of the type of banana stem, concentration and interaction on the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on the growth of cayenne pepper plant. This research was conducted on cayenne pepper (Capsicum frustencens L.). Subjects used in this study were 72 plants. The treatments were 6 types ie 3 types of concentration with banana kapok type and 3 types of concentration with the type of stem of plantain. The concentrations made are 40%, 50% and 60%. In this research, there were 6 treatments including J1K1 40% (40ml POC + 60 ml water), J1K2 50% (50ml POC + 50 ml water), J1K3 60% (60ml POC + 40 ml water), J2K1 (40ml POC + 60 Ml water), J2K2 50% (50ml POC + 50 ml water), J2K3  (60ml POC + 40 ml water) using Completely Randomized Design (RAL). The type of this research is experimental research using quantitative approach and data analysis used is Analysis of Two Way Variant. Data collection techniques in this study there are 3 parameters of plant height, wet weight and dry weight is done destructively. The third parameter is done destructively that is damaging the plant while taking data. In this data retrieval there are 4 times repetition which will be averaged. The results of this study were. Know the effectiveness of each type of banana stem and the concentration made and see the significance value of the three parameters. In wet weight of plant, the most optimum treatment is banana kepok type with concentration of 50% and 60%. This happens because the nutrients are absorbed completely compared to compost and the osmosis process runs perfectly so that it affects the wet weight paramameter of the plant. The interaction of the banana tree type and the corresponding concentration can produce the nutrients needed by the plant for its growth. On the parameter of wet weight of the plant there is a difference marked by the value of significance with the level of α = 5%. The significance value of banana stem is 0.003 concentration is 0.001 and interaction is 0.004.
