Abstract

Bananas peel of Mas Kirana (Musa acuminata L.) is thought to contain an antimicrobial compound that can be used to inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a pathogenic bacterium that causes nosocomial infections. The objective of this research is to find minimum inhibitory Concentration of extract banana’s peel mas kirana (Musa acuminata L.) on Pseudomonas aeruginosa growth. This research is a descriptive study conducted in vitro using liquid dilution method at concentrations 25, 50, 75, 100 (mg / mL). Observations were made by observing the turbidity of the test tube compared with the control, then giving the result (+) with the lowest turbidity and (-) for turbidity equal to the control. The results of this study indicate that the best minimum inhibitory concentration at concentrations of 100 mg / mL is indicated by different turbidity levels with the controls. The conclusion of this research shows that banana mas extract of kirana (Musa acuminata L.) can inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
