EFEKTIVITAS MEDIA TANAM DAN NUTRISI ORGANIK DENGAN SISTEM HIDROPONIK WICK PADA TANAMAN SAWI HIJAU (Brassica juncea L.)

Abstract


Green mustard plant (Brassica juncea L.), which is one of vegetable crops cultivated by Indonesian farmers, has high economic value and contains vitamins needed by the body. However, due to the transfer of land into residential areas, the cultivation of vegetables can not be applied conventionally maximally. So it takes effort to improve the production of vegetable crops with cultivation techniques that have high efficiency and effectiveness that is with hydroponics. The purpose of this study to determine the effectiveness of planting media and organic nutrition on the growth of green mustard plants (Brassica juncea L.). This research uses Randomized Block Design (RAK) method with three factors. The first factors of planting medium include sponge (M1), charcoal husk (M2) and cocopeat (M3). The second factor of organic nutrient from cow urine (N1) and vegetable waste (N2) and third factor was the concentration of 8 ml / l (K1), 10 ml / l (K2) and 12 ml / l (K3), respectively 18 treatment and replication combinations 3 times. Based on the results of statistical analysis, there is the effect of planting media and organic nutrients on the growth of green mustard plants (Brassica juncea L.). M2N1K2 treatment (charcoal husk medium and cow urine nutrient 10 ml / L) gave the best growth rate for plant height, leaf number, leaf area and wet weight of plant at age 35 HST.
