Abstract


This study aims to determine the characteristics of metacognition and misconception of students of biology education program of University of PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) in cell biology course. The study was conducted in the fourth semester of Biology Program with 36 students. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, metacognition data collection and misconception done when UTS and UAS use integrated test in test achievement with choice of confidence level answer. Data were analyzed using metacognition rubrics developed by corebima (2006). The result of the research shows that UNIPMA biology students have metacognition ability in category at risk 30,5%, not really 38,8% and developing 30,5% have not reached Ok and Super category
