Abstract

Student learning resources with the application of research-based module can improve each other's quality and space of activity of learners. This study aims to develop the biotechnology module of SMA XII Class according to the results of the test of the potential of amylolitic bacteria from the tapioca flour mill waste. Amylolytic bacteria is an extracellular enzyme producing bacteria degrading starch. Bacterial isolation using 10-5 dilution dilution method suspended on medium NA 1% Starch with incubation time for 48 hours then tested potency using iodine solution. Research data obtained from amylolytic bacteria from tapioca flour waste factory converted into module. Data on the test results of the potential of amilolytic bacteria were used to construct independent learning resources. The module is prepared by Self Instructional criteria consisting of materials, methods and evaluation. The compiled module has been validated with three expert validators with an average of 79.1% including enough valid criteria so that the module can be used as a self-learning resource with little improvement. The result of isolation of amylolitic bacteria of tapioca flour waste plant were 4 bacterial isolates. Bacterial activity can be seen from the clear zone present in the media after iodine assay. One of four bacteria has amilolytic activity with a potential power index of 3.11 cm2. Isolates of bacteria that have amylolytic activity include bacterial genus Bacillus
