POTENSI PENGGUNAAN LEARNING JOURNAL (LJ) DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN HIGHER ORDER THINKING (HOT) SISWA PADA MATERI SISTEM REPRODUKSI

Abstract


The purpose of the research is to analyze of Learning Journal (LJ) on Higher Order Thinking (HOT) ability. This research was conducted at SMAN 6 Madiun in class XI IPA 1 with a total of 35 students and XI IPA 5 with a total of 34 students. This research was conducted three times face-to-face on reproductive system learning material. The data collection used tests of students’ higher order thinking skills, namely with pretest-posttest and assignments. Then the application of the Learning Journal data was made by the experimental class and accompanied by a questionnaire. The results showed that the application of the Learning Journal has an effect on Higher Order Thinking skills of students because in the final results of class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class showed that there were 20 students who completed and 15 students who did not complete the KKM, while from class XI IPA 5 as the control class only 10 students completed and 24 who did not completed from the KKM value. Then seen from the Learning Journal probability values for HOT skills are 0, 040 so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The implementation phase of the learning process is carried out professionally carrying out learning activities according to the time and learning process that has been determined.
